Land Practice

Land practice is from 5:40am to 7:00am every Tuesday and Wednesday for girls and every Wednesday and Thursday for guys.

We meet in or around Carmichael Gym. Considered by most college students (and most of our team) to be unacceptable hours of the morning, the team decided long ago that it was one of the only times when the entire team could meet without schedule conflicts. Hanging out with friends in the morning makes it much more tolerable and it definitely helps you get an early start on your day. Consider yourselves lucky! The team used to get up every weekday for morning practice.

Land practice itself typically consists of a combination of running, erging (using the rowing machines), or one of the coach's or coxswains' crazy strength training routines. Although this all helps to prepare the team for the season, the real challenge and excitement happens out on the water.
