6th Annual Million Meter Row, Sept 18th and 19thThe million meter row is a tradition for NCSU Crew, originally created for fundraising for the Fall Semester of 2004. It went so well that we decided to extend it to an annual event. The basics of it are pretty simple. The team rows until we reach one million meters collectively. It is a two day event, and this year the first day will be held in the Brickyard, running from 6am to 7pm, and the second day will be at the Raleigh Flea Market. There are three rowing machines being used to collect the million meters. The time is broken down into 30 minute shifts, where each rower will row 6 shifts over the course of the event. The distance of one million meters has significance in the fall season because that is very close to the distance that it takes to get to Boston, where the largest regatta for the head race season is held. The event also serves as our largest on-campus recruiting event.
Last year, we Reached The 1,000,000th meter with several hours left!
