Head Coach: Mark Adams
Mark became head coach in
the Fall of 2006, after spending a year as an assistant coach.
Mark joined NCSU Crew as an assistant coach in the fall of 2005.
He earned his Masters degree in Computer Science from NC State in
the spring of 2005. Formerly a rower on the squad for 3 years, Mark
came back as an assistant coach at just the right time, as our team
doubled in size that season. Mark is now our head coach beginning
in fall of 2006. Mark brings with him experience rowing outside of
Raleigh, specifically as a member of Malta Boat Club in Philadelphia,
PA. He also was a member of the board, and served as treasurer and
president during his time at State. |

Assistant Coach: Luis Guillen
Luis joined NCSU Crew as an assistant coach in the
Fall of 2006. He had previously spent 4 years rowing for NC State,
joining in the Fall of 2002, making him one of the few rowers in
club history to row four years. He is currently completing his degree
in Industrial Engineering.

Assistant Coach: Lauren
Pickens
Lauren joined the coaching staff in the
spring of 2007 to assist the women's squad. She got her start in
rowing when she joined the women's varsity crew team at the University
of Mary Washington in 2002 as a freshman. At UMW, Lauren rowed for
four years, serving as a captain for the women's team for a year.
For almost 3 years she has raced in her single and in doubles with
her favorite sculling partner, husband Jim. Highlights in her rowing
career include being the current record-holder of the Women's Master
AA 1x at the Occoquan Challenge, a Gold medal at 2006 Head of the
South in the Mixed 2x, and a Silver medal at 2005 HOTO in the Mixed
2x. |
